Default Double-Din install question

I am thinking about a double-din radio/gps installation but would like to have the heater control in the upper slot now occupied by the CD holder. I see that everyone puts the heater control in the lower slot. This is what Porsche offers as a kit possibly because the upper slot is not as tall as the lower. Is there any way install the heater control like I want?

I doubt it. Probably the way the install kit from Manta, Mantra? forget the name right now, is made. Maybe if you do a custom install yourself or pay someone for a few extra hours of their time.... anything is possible i guess with enough time and money. I have no problems with them being lower.........

The upper slot on is actually shorter and the climate unit is too tall. Unless you want to cut up your lower console and have a custom panel fitted, you have to put it at the lower slot.

here is how to so it:

Don't think it is possible without some risk- When I put my DD in I got a kit from eBay and everything went smooth.

I have my hvac controls in the second from the bottom and the bottom is a cubby, opposite of ^. I bought my car this way. It did not have a trim piece on the controls but a cut down an original porsche trim piece and it looks great. I found a few threads on the conversion and cutting down the trim using google. Ill try to find them and take a pic when i get out to the garage.

edit: here it is, i left a real thin edge at the bottom of my trim piece and i think it looks better.
