m635dude, have you tried reaching out to Porsche NA? https://my.porsche.com/usa/dialogue/...ion/contactus/

Maybe also send them a letter?

This is a fun game to play, and I want to keep playing it, but Porsche themselves may be the only ones who can end it!

I don't know if PTS was ever an issue for Porsche. If you pony up the cash, they will do whatever you want styling-wise. I saw a PTS pink Boxster once. Maybe a Mary Kay? There's a thread on here about some garish interior PTS done to a 996. Pretty sure back in 99-2005, if you were buying a car, Porsche would do anything you choose, once the check clears.

There's "can be done" and there's "should NOT be done" with PTS colors. PTS can go wrong, not in this case!

Yup, they would do almost any color combo.

Exactly my point, hideous! Who could actually get in a car with those colors, much less "order" it that way?...no offense to anyone who would unless you would pay more, if you would, then I'm offended.

The other point here: @m635dude PTS 996 just looks right!

Excellent Rich, I support you 100%! It is "interesting" to see what people come up with that's for sure.

Thanks for all the great comments guys! I felt the same way as many of you do when I first saw it. Took a lot of fighting to get it but I'd say it was worth it.

I did call PNA before I actually owned the car. They said I could ask them if the color was "xxxx" and they could say yes or no, but they couldn't actually tell me the color outright haha. I believe I asked about Irish and Brewster maybe and got a "No", then without being overly specific he kind of implied that it was a customer paint sample.

Being that I am in fact the owner now, I think getting an actual COA plus having a longer talk with them might be in order. I really want to see the car next to a Lotus of similiar color and see how close they are.

This was something that crossed my mind is what about other manufacturers' greens from the late 90's early 2000's era. Perhaps the original owner painted this car to match another that wasn't a Porsche?
