Or the suspension could need some attention or the air pressure is a bit high. I've found the stock recommendations way too hard for the street. I'm running 30/34 psi - which I still think rides on the firmer side. My mechanic tells me I should be able to run it into the high 20s without any problems. I prefer the looks of the C4S but wanted RWD. I didn't realize you could disconnect the front drive. Live and learn, congrats.

Love That Angle
What's Not To Love?
I took a few pictures over the weekend - I truly believe the C4S is one of the Best Looking 911's Ever - Other than my 03 Tara, this is my favorite - Ride is much firmer than other 996's I owed (Old Age - 55 in 3 weeks) but to hell with it, I still love it!

Beautiful car, and 26k miles is crazy on a car this old!
I love my C4S. The ride is firm because it has some Turbo-parts (Porsche says, anyway) in the suspension, brake system, etc. and your tires are probably at recommended PSI, which IIRC are 36F/44/R and it's very firm I'd agree. I'm having the original Sport Techno wheels put on it as we speak and asked them to bring the PSI down to 33F/40R but 38R is doable from what I've read, so we'll see how that difference goes. The wheels from the old owner were much too small and narrow so spreading out the tread should assist also.
I always wanted a 996 C4S and never even considered the other models, and absolutely love it. It doesn't rain in TX enough to really justify AWD, but through the corners at speed is so much fun, even my fiance` loves it and doesn't get nervous like she did in my old 550i saloon.
Enjoy!

I know what you mean, I owed a 2000 M5 6sp - Loved it, my favorite Performance Sedan with a 6sp - The S62 V8 was a monster, but in rain or snow (even with Snow Tires) handling was scary
