I have a rattle in my passenger side muffler. Even before removing it I could knock on it with my fist and hear a bunch of racket. I uninstalled the mufflers to send to Fister Motorsports to have it repaired and modded, but to my surprise it already has a variation of the mod. No shops suggest repairing it in my area, so what would be the best course of action to a nice sounding muffler without spending thousands of dollars? Prices are all over the place online and anything in my area looks like it has been winter driven its entire life. At the moment I am contemplating freshly restored mufflers from Fister or waiting for a nice aftermarket system to come up for sale online. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a picture of the mod for reference. I do not believe I have seen it done this way before.
I have fabspeed maxflos that I will be selling in a couple of weeks once my custom exhaust is done. Also have muffler bypasses available that I bought for $100 from RL member that I never used.
When the same thing happened to me I bought Milltek mufflers. Was the cheapest "reputable" option, easy bolt-on installation using the OE exhaust tips, and I'm very happy with the way they sound. I bought right after the Brexit vote when the pound was at a very low value, so I got a good deal
Thanks for all the input, guys. Luckily, a lot of people have started to offer me different options they have for sale. If none the them work out, I believe I will be going the fister route. Hard to beat his price.
I just bought Dansk mufflers on ebay pretty cheap... well cheap by 911 aftermarket exhaust standards. Still, they are the OEM manufacturer, so gotta be good.
