PCA IMS Bearing Spotlight: Second Video Released

Three Wheelin'
Good info! Especially the fuel contamination stuff. Coincidentally I never let the car sit to warm up, just start it up and pull out of the garage, keeping it under 3k rpms until the oil gets up to temperature. It's a weekend car that I drive a couple times a week in the canyons, spending the majority of the time between 3,000-5500 rpm. Always felt the car seemes to "like" it in that range. LN bearing was installed 15K miles ago. Hopefully I'm doing all I can to prolong it....

Great information Jake! And, hats off to Damon. He faded out the music after the title sequence. Now my ADD won't kick in. Yay! It also sounded like he worked with some noise reduction filters because the sound is much better than the last video.

Interesting about the different diameter bearings - which transfers to different spin speeds and therefore load transfer.
Sounds like Porsche deduced that most where driving slow/ town speed and made the diameter of the later bearing bigger.

they should have ..........deduced.........from jump street that putting a sealed bearing inside an engine ain't too bright .I am surprised they didn't think to put a zerk fitting on the side of the block to lube it as a patch fix......although i bet the idea crossed their minds

I really appreciate all the knowledge you share Jake. If I ever need a rebuild, you are the person I am coming to. In fact, I may think about taking one of your course with my son. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks again Jake! These videos are a great help to us who want to understand better what is happening in our cars and how to best treat them. You're description of "driving it like a Porsche" was nice and clear. I've heard the terminology in the past, but nobody ever seemed to be able to describe it as simply. I try to keep cruising RPMs around 3K and with fairly regular shifts up to 4-5K. Reaffirming that I seem to be on the right track.
