Hi all. Just curious what the Air Intake Resonance Tube does. there is a vacuum actuated flap that when activated closes the flap and when not actuated is open. Pic attached of the part I'm talking about. Thanks in advance!
Wow! That’s was an amazing answer. Thanks!! I guess I better replace mine since I accidentally broke the actuator arm !
I have another on hand, but it was such a pain getting on and off I’ve been procrastinating. If anyone has any tips to making it easier to remove and replace I’m all ears!!

Thanks again!
I read that the left intake manifold must be removed. As it must, as it also stated that the forward plenum is not meant to be removed without doing so. I’m in the process buttoning up everything after replacing the AOS. On my 2004 Carrera w/ Tip that is a total blue bitvh of a DIY.
I actually recently replaced the starter and Y cable and while I was in there was going to replace the resonator tube. When I went to remove it I checked it and found that my super glue repair of the broken actuator arm had actually held up and it was functioning as intended! It was a nice surprise and so glad I didnt jabe to remove it.

I don’t trust superglue that much.
