Default Cracked seat belt

Test drove another 4S earlier this week and apart from being pretty beat up, I noticed the drivers seatbelt shoulder bracket was cracked. I've noticed this on a number of cars and assume it's due to age of the plastic and exposure to sunlight. a) is this dangerous and b) is there a specific replacement part, or do you need to replace the entire seatbelt?

The loop inside is steel. The plastic is purely cosmetic. No parts available except the entire belt. Every VW & Audi has this as well.
