That is the smart solution imho. It is totally non Smog-legal but 100% Enviro-friendly and economically sensible. Just don't get an "Equipment Violation" in California !
If you can find a muffler shop on the 'wrong side of the tracks' ,they may fabricate it for you at the right price- cash !

I read it somewhere that the 200 cell cat will not pass California smog test

I'll be selling my set if you want to buy it but I was not aware 200 cell would not pass CA smog test. I only have about 3K miles on them but I am upgrading my 996 with a 997 3.8 and going with a completely custom exhaust so I need to unload them.
