Talking Date of Manufacture... VIN?

Hey guys, how do you figure out the date of manufacture from the VIN # ?

Go to this website

Replace the VIN in the link with your VIN. If you get a pop-up asking you to print, just press cancel.

This shows the production date and the warranty start, which is when the car was sold. All the factory options are also listed. Note that this only works for model year 2001 cars or newer.

Thanks, this is a 2001 but it is saying "this vehicle is not available" after the print prompt..

Im in the middle of a deal right now so I would rather not share that right now, but if anyone knows the VIN nomenclature that would be most helpful. Thank you.

Hey Sean57, do you have access to the vehicle or is it in another location? If you're near the car you can find the production date on the driver's side door. Check out the image in this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...s-sticker.html

ah yes! Thank you, the vehicle is in another location, I have this photo but the angle they shot it at the date is blurred from being out of focus. I will ask them to snap a photo for me. Thank you, very helpful. My first water-cooled. excited!

June of 2000 is manufacture date. This is a coupe with tiptonic transmission. 35k miles, clean history. What do you guys think?

I think you found the production date and the car is 17 years old.
