Question 60k Service

I'm going in for my 60,000 mile service soon. I was told that it would cost around $1,200 (at Rusnak Pasadena). Does that seem right? Keep in mind that the 60k service includes replacing the timing belt.

Got my 60k service done at an independent shop here in Orange County for $850. Newport Auto Center quoted me close to $1,200 so I think Pasadena is close. If LA can perform the service for $650, perhaps I should take the time and start having my service in LA from now on!

Ooops,....my mistake. It's the POLYRIB belt that gets replaced at 60,000 miles. I'll call LA Porsche and see what they quote me. Thanks guys!

I paid $960 for the 60K service in Atlanta at a dealer. This gives you the new belt, oil change plus a few other extras.

I was quoted $895 by Downtown LA, so I brought it in this morning. Beverly Hills Porsche quoted $1,400 and Rusnak Pasadena quoted $1,300.

I'll let you know how they do.

$895? Did this include the polyrib being replaced? If so.... I think I'll switch to Downtown LA from my independent.

I'm picking it up in the morning, so I'll let you know if they did it all. I asked him straight up when I dropped it off if they were changing the plugs and the polyrib belt and the air filter etc. and Juan said "yes sir".

When you guys are speaking of the polyrib belt do you mean the serpentine belt? I actually had to replace mine as it broke at 33k! I got it from la porsche (by usc) for like 35 bucks and did it myself with a rather large socket needed for the idler arm tensioner, I think it was 22mm or something. Otherwise I did all my 30k service including plugs, fuel filter, tranny fluid change, oil/filter, air, charcol ac filter, and I think that's it? The whole gammit. The cost was probably like 150 bucks or something and my time

Well, Downtown LA Porsche did it all for $1,100 so I'm satisfied. The extra $200 was for some other hoses that were leaking. Believe me, if I had a garage, tools, and free time, I would be doing this stuff myself too. Working on your own car is therapeutic!

Anyway, I will definitely use Downtown LA Porsche again if they continue to price their service way below BH and Pasadena.

Sounds reasonable, perhaps I should look into LA Porsche for future services. When you mention other hoses that were leaking, do you mean the oil return tubes? Had those replaced during my 60k service as well.
