One of our family members lives in Ft. Lauderdale and we received this picture this afternoon of their neighborhood just 1.5 miles inland on the river, they are without power but no water in their house...

I would go for a northern 1000 miles drive in my 996 if it was mine. Maybe a weeks stay in a hotel as well.
