Default 2006 911 Cabrio, good deal?

Hi -

Thinking about buying my first Porsche. I have someone in my network that is trading in their 2006 911 Carrera Cabriolet, Silver, 35K miles, excellent condition, maintenance is current and up to date, only one owner, always garaged, in Southern California. They want to sell it for what they would get for the trade in and don't want to go through the effort to sell it. They are offering it to me for $28K, which is what they believe that their local dealership will give them. I've seen other models of similar condition going for about $35K, and the Carrera S going for $40K+ (same year, mileage etc). This seems like a great deal, but wanted to ask the forums.

Thanks

+1 on checking it out, PPI etc. Sometimes if it seems to good to be true it is, but if it checks out that is a very good price.

Yep, sounds almost too good to be true. You might want to try posting in the 997 forum also since it is a 2006 model, which makes it a 997 rather than a 996.
