Question Size of fuel tank?

The owners manuel in my new 96 TT says 19 or 24 gal...but isn't specific as to how you tell which you have. Anyone have the answer? Thanks.

Bill,

Congrats on your new purchase. I hope you have many years of enjoyment. Welcome to Rennlist, your new home. Give us some details on your car and your purchase.

My 1996TT holds 19 gallons. I wasn't aware there was an optional fuel tank size. Do you have the options list for your car? Do you have a little tag inside your hood with a bunch of codes? Post them here, and someone (not me) can decode them for you.

Again, welcome.

Hi,

This infomation is courtesey of Suwipin. The regular spec 993 has a 19.4 gallon tank. ROW 993s has an option to go to 23.4 (?) gallons. He even sent me a picture of a part one can get from Gert for the larger tank.

All US 993's were delivered with a 72 liter (19 gal) fuel tank while in the ROW, one could also order a 92 liter (24 gal) fuel tank.

Thanks to all for the very complete answer. It will be a pleasure to be an active member. I'll be out of touch for a few days, but will post pictures and info when I get back. Thanks again.
