Default Stage 1 upgrade for 993TT

Anyone have the Autothority Stage 1 ECU upgrade on their car? Any positive or negative feedback would be appreciated. I ran a search and came up with nothing.

Autothority has not been real popular with the TT market (993 or 996). For the 993TTs you'll find mostly Giac, FVD and Protomotive as far as aftermarket tuners are concerned.

One other I might mention is GIAC. We have modified more ECUs in the 996TT market that I am certain that people forget that we have the same level of programming for the 993TT. Like gains, better drivability all the safety functions installed per factory. I don't normally post these type of messages, but this one is dear to my heart

Stephen failed to mention we have an Autothority MAF and ECU removed from a customer's car. The customer wants to sell it-anyone want to take a stab at the value?

I have the Autothority stage II ECU in mine. It does fine as far as performance goes, the only issue I've had is that you cannot program a new key with it in the car. I picked up a 97 ecu in a deal for some used turbos so I can always take it back to stock if need be for programming purposes.

While Autothority has gone through quite a few changes in the last several years, I'm told they will re-emerge in the hands of owners that actually know P-cars intimately. Their software for the 993TT was very well developed, and was the product of a collaboration with Gunther. The 993TT software was the last project that Autothority's original software guru, Al Collins, worked on before he sold the company, and he mastered quite a few nuances of the programming. I own a spare 97 Autothority ECU that works incredibly well with my current package, and actually has better timing and throttle characteristics at low rpms than my other software, which produces most of its power at higher rpms. The Autothority ECU handles my LWF better than the other software.

Uh, did you notice Stephen's comments were 2.5 years ago?

What modifications will Autothority have done to the MAF?

any 60-130mph times for stage1 kits?
even a rough time, hand stopped without video would be nice.

I have protomotive "560", it seems to work very well. I spoke to autothority and they tried
very hard to earn my business and early on produced some outrageous performing 993tt's,
which some on this board believe was at the expense of longevity of the motor.
IMHO.

woodster: you have kevins stage 2 with protomotive 560 ecu, right?

if so, does that fit together? 5bar fpr as well?

can you compare the performance with lets say 996 tt x50 or gt2?
