A new clutch/presuure plate/ light flywheel is my next step (along then with a guards limited slip). I was thinking of this Pressure Plate from FVD

Mod. 964/965/993/GT3 (1100 NM) FVD 116 928 $695
Increased clamping force, lightweight pressure plate

High clamping force, light weight. Seems like a good combo.

What do you guys use for a clutch disc? Sprung hub, or solid. Paddle blade? Sintered or organic?

Thoughts?

I got 10,000 track miles on a GT2 disc which also worked great on the street I tried kevlar composite, ceramic sintered, and a paddle blade that were undriveable on the street.

I'd check the FVD kit unless this is a track only car.

I've used a paddle bladed sprung hub that had a marcel backing so it absorbed some of the shock and was streetable. I read a recent post here somewhere with a guy that had a solid hub with an organic material, and he thought it was fine for the street.

JJayB, what GT2 disc do you have? I see an organic solid hub, and a metalic(?) sintered solid hub for the GT2.

Thanks

Organic disc P/n 964 116 011 61. Its actually a 3.8 RSR which is the same as the GT2.

I have the FVD Pressure plate, when I bought it, they called it their 980NM plate but I think they have upped its rating. It is only good for these big numbers with a sintered disc - they show the sprung one one their website/catalogue. I have run it with a sprung sintered disc and it is much more drivable than rigid sintered - I use my car for stop go traffic and it proved too difficult (for me). If you are not using your car in traffic, I would reccomend giving the setup a go.
I run an Organic disc with this pressure plate, I don't know exact which one but presume it is the same as the one JJayB is using - I will check because, although this set up is just like stock to use on the street, I have had slip in 4th/5th gears when it has got below 12degC ambient.
JJayB - Trying to deal with RS from the US may prove a bit of a nightmare, they are not the easiest people to deal with.
