Kris,

How long did it take you do the clutch job? I kinda need this car to go to work and stuff, can't leave it in the shop for too long...
Nope, mine didn't come with the "S" lip as well wish it did though.

I visited Steve's site yesterday and found a RS LFW package ($1750), didn't say if the PP is from the GT2. Is that the same package you are using?

Which part of Malaysia are you in? I go to Singapore the 1st week of every month, if you ever go to SIN, we should meet! Would love to share some of your experiences with the car!

CC6,

It took about three days. They have to drop the engine and gearbox and then fit everything back. However to share another probable cause with you on your high clutch pedal, I had the same symptom and it turned out to be my clutch slave cylinder. When they changed the clutch over the pedal was still high. I have since rebuilt it and the clutch feels a lot better (I have ordered a new cylinder as a standby). But if you're going with a LWF as an upgrade go for it. It's money well spent . Huge difference in response from the engine and driveability if anything is better!

The LWF I picked up from Steve W. was a bit more. I think what's listed on his site is w/o the GT2 PP and disc but just go ahead and check with him (or he might be here... Steve you out there somewehere ?). Mine was the whole hog LWF/GT2PP+DISC.

I live in Kuala Lumpur. Do travel to Singapore on occasion. Maybe we can hook up. If you're out in Kuala Lumpur for the weekend I can book us a session at Sepang our F1 track. Bumped into another Rennlister there a couple of weeks ago during an event. Pure happenstance, was a good feeling to think the world is a very small place...

cheers,
Kris

Thanks for the tips.

Where are you located in Taiwan? What happened to your RS America? Who did you buy your 993tt from? I will soon get a GT2pp and clutch also. I am in Taipei. Maybe we can get together sometime and share some ideas.

Hey OG,

Sorry to hear you need a new clutch.
If you go with the LW setup let me know how it works out.
Good luck.

James, I am taking it to Porsche tommorow to get
it fixed. I could not find a mechanic around here
who could do the job. I had just started a maintenance
account and there is not enough in there to do the LWF
and the GT2 clutch. so I am just going to get the
stock setup and go with that until I can get enough
in my maintenance account to start doing mods.
A stock clutch and setup/labor is 2.2K and I am having
them do the power assist amd change the belts while
they are in there.
thanks James for your support

Question

went for a drive yesterday and noticed ther is a slight rattling sound whenever I went above 4000rpm (every gear), and especially in 5th...
It sounded like the noise came from the transmission, has anyone ever experienced similar situations? The car is fine but very annoying when driving at high speed. HELP!!
