So, one thing that worry me if I go with 225/40 front and jump from 285/30 to 295/30 because the extra1" of the 996 wheels, it could result in a "push" behavior because only increasing the rear width and have a more unbalance between the front and rear axles.

Honestly unless your seriously pushing this car on the track, I don't think you'll ever notice it under spirited street driving. How the alignment is setup will greatly reduce this result too.
I ran 225/285 and now 225/295. Honestly there is no difference, I don't feel any added understeer or push behavior.
