Flat lots and lots of looking at Autotrader, rpmsportscars.com Premiercars.com
Sloancars.com, DUpontregistry.com. ANd just reading and reading
Oh and throw a couple of trips to the local Porshce dealer to kinda
look at the newer ones with a test drive or 2. That'll work till you get
nearer.

Stuka: I special ordered my car sans sunroof for exactly the reason you mentioned. The dealer really tried to talk me out of it and there was no credit against the price for the deletion. Sport seats are fairly common, but I would guess there are fewer than 20 non sunroof cars.

Sports seats are not common enough! I'd guess roughly 1 in 5 or fewer turbos came with sport seats. I wish I had them, although I must say for normal (non-track) driving the "comfort" seats are OK.

If you had your revelation at that race, you should want a Viper. A privateer in his second World Challenge GT race ever, kicked Porsche, Audi, and BMW butt and led all but the first 2 laps. His pit crew consisted of 1 (very talented) guy.

I agree with "pig", that viper was never really threatend once he got into the lead. Even with the mid race Caution, or would they call it "bunching flag?", he had the race the whole way. The real action was watching Probst move back up after going wide in turn 2 on the restart. Can't wait to see that race on the 20th.

I spent the weekend there crewing for the StaSis Audi in Touring car and really feel for that one guy crew.

The fun thing about it that the driver, Paul Mumford, was a "little guy" that's well-known on message boards and track days in California and events like the Open Track Challenge. The "one guy crew" is Erik Messley and some of his misadventures are chronicled in the nsxfiles (www.nsxfiles.com).
