That's probably a good idea to walk away from that one.
I can't imagine the body damage that occured to cause damage to the engine and transmission. It must have been very bad.

Turbo S carbon fiber
Kevin,
I'm glad to hear that you're going to pass on that car. It's a buyer's market out there, and you certainly deserve a car with no stories.
My "regular" TT was ordered with the factory Turbo S interior by the original owner. It consists of carbon fiber trim pieces on the doors and dash, and lots of leather upgrades. According to a PCNA rep, these options cost the original purchaser over $20K+. So, it might be nice if you can find them, since you won't really have to pay for them and they do dress up the interior.
Good luck with your search!

It has no body damage but they cut holes in the rear panels?
Engine and transmission damage?
I guess this means the engine seized and blew the gear box?
The Porsche warranty on used cars doesn't car the whole vehicle.
If those photos (red) are the car, I'd pass on that combination of red and carbon fibre alone!
As mentioned, "S" spec to the engine is a relatively minor 24 hp gain -- even if they did the front cooler and the holes in the rear quarter panels and the Aerokit II body kit appearance package, it's not all that much value.
All that said.
$60K is CHEAP for a good vehicle. Cheap.
Cheap, cheap, cheap.
If you can get this thing inspected by an independent 993 Turbo expert, it could be good.
I would not be so quick to walk away.
I'd be really skeptical and cautious.
But I'd look into it.
If you like red.
Not me.
Maybe you.
Cheers,

Carrera,
It would appear that the right color and a "cheap, cheap, cheap" price mean more to you than the condition and quality of a vehicle? Take off your barroom rose-colored glasses! She's not that pretty.
BTW, Porsche has been doing "red" interiors since the 1950's. Doesn't get any more classic than that.

Adam,
Forgive me if I did not understand your post. It's a bit spastic and all over the place. In my psychiatry class, they would have characterized your prose as a "flight of ideas".
It seems that you feel that Kevin might want to seriously consider that vehicle because it is "Cheap. Cheap, cheap, cheap". That car is obviously a pig, if not an out-and-out salvage vehicle.
Were you serious, or was it too much Red Bull this morning? It's an absolute buyer's market, with fine, non-wrecked TT's available for $60 - 65K. So why in heaven's name do you think Kevin should be give this POS any further consideration ("I would not be so quick to walk away")?
