Project convertible 993 turbo
I have a convertible 993 (1994) manual transmission. This is a great car.
Recently I bought the engine, suspension and transmission 993 Turbo. I want to replace my motor to the motor 993 turbo. I think the forum is the guys who made (performed) a similar project. I need some help, good advice and links to such topics at the forum.
Thanks, Sergey

you could do what the factory did and install a 3.3L 930 turbo motor. (handful of 993 turbo cabs were built but with older turbo motor)
a clone of one of those rare birds would be nice.

I'm pretty sure the 993 turbo cabs were equipped with the 3.6L single turbo from the 964 3.6 turbo models.
To OP, looks like a neat project, I haven't got any info to offer but I look forward to any progress posts you plan to make.

Do you have the DME (computer) as well? There are differences in the wiring harnesses but I do not have an itemized list.
I think the fundamental frame/mount points for the engine are the same, but there are lots of plumbing , electrical and vacuum changes to accomodate. I have not done this but am familiar with both cars - definitely the clutch slave system is different, you can run the system you have on your NA 993, the clutch will be heavy but its perfectly driveable. You will either need to swap the power steering pump out with the NA one, or change out the reservoir and a lot of plumbing. I assume you have the mufflers as well, but its a narrow body so the tips will not align.
Cheers,
Mike
