Hmm, funny, I was just thinking today about a backroom project of a friend we used to race with in FF. A serious racecar engineer. He had built a complete tube frame, pushrod suspension chassis, sized to fit beneath a bone stock '59 VW beetle body he had restored. No logic, just a very amusing track day toy. It was set up to accept a Porsche flat six flipped around as a mid engine layout. This would be just the ticket...

Fwiw I bought a 1996 TT engine refurbished, stock specs with 993TTgearbox 2 years ago for 24k Euros. Whole package. If the value of the engine goes in line with the value of the car you can double the figure.

Also sold a 964 3,3T engine with c.a. 350/360HP tune with 130 000 kms for 11k Euros. Not refurbished. May be I sold to cheap ! Most likely... When I fisrt considered selling it 2 years ago I saw a few units around 6/7k Euro and the 3,3s were not really in demand.
