Time to "nearly" Scratch One Off The Bucket List.
Hello,
I am a air cooled Porsche Turbo fanatic, around 3 years ago I purchased my first real Porsche "Turbo 3.6 (964) and I am very happy with it.
I have always liked 2 Porsche's only which are the Turbo 3.6 (964) and 993 Turbo, to me they are the greatest hits of the 90's.
My friends who I know of 3 of them both own a 993 Turbo alongside a Turbo 3.6, I felt the need for variety in the Porsche section of my modest car collection so now I have sourced a 993 Turbo which I will fly out to see tomorrow. I hope the PPI checks out so I can enjoy sharing with you the pictures.
Excited, hard to sleep tonight as 5 hours time I need to be in the check in counter at the airport.

Congrats on your purchase! Nearly bought a 3.6 Turbo Polar Silver on Flamenco red perfect condition 70k miles for 50k USD about 3 years ago. I was thinking about buying it then selling my 993, couldn't afford both at the same time. Kind of regret it now that values are what they are but oh well. Always wondered how the two would compare. Please let us know how you like the 993 and how it compares to the 964.

Good luck with inspection and PPI! You already have a dream car with 965 3.6. I think you will find the 993 tt much more exploitable and smooth.
Make us a favor and compare your 965 3.6 vs 993 tt. From a 965 owner, it will be an interesting comparison!
Let us know the outcome!

Thank you all for the wishes.
I saw the car it was Cobalt over Classic Grey and it is a U.S spec.
I did a vin check and the car fax was okay, only thing I didn't like was the rear bumper wrinkles from the aftermarket exhaust heat or a probable minor rear incident.
There is a thread on Reenlist about the car, I didn't like that it was mentioned that it needs a few TLC so it left a sour thought in my mind about this car given that it has a certain history/thread about it.
I checked the vin and I was wary about the 32,000mi on the odometer. I backed out of the sale after knowing it was sold south of $67,000 in 18 months and the current seller is asking a huge margin over what he got it for.
The rear bumper needs to be replaced as well as the non original carbon fibre interior which was sticked on. Price is for a collectors grade car, I would like to drive them as much as I can.
I told the seller to meet me half way and was firm at a certain price. Car is located in Dubai and is a U.S Spec car.
On the website it was advertised differently and in person they added turbo S ducts and clear lamps.

I see some good 993 Turbo's here in the states that trade for collector dollars in two forms:
1) 100% oem original with US front bumper with the bumperettes and no upgraded fog lights etc
2) Mostly original with some choice updates such as turbo s bumper inserts and clear euro markers which means that they have replaced and repainted a ROW Turbo\C4 front bumpers since the US variants have huge squares cut out
Is the collector market accepting of slight mods? Thoughts?

Why does it matter what he paid for the car? The market has gone up and he is probably bailing out and cashing in.
Back in 2012, I was undecided between a 993 TT or a 997 TT. I could have had either cars (very low mileage) for around 90 and decided to go with 997 TT instead (sold since then)
So If I had paid 90 and the market is now 150, why would I want to sell it cheaper?
