Got it.

I now see that is is a '96 tribute but I was confused by the fact that it is a 1976 car?

I guess I'm still confused

Looks like a 993tt converted to a 911 GT body style. The front turbo bumper with slitters is the give away..

Quite interesting, the GT moniker was for the new Grand Tourismo class of racers in the early 90s with GT1 being for modified cars and GT2 being for production vehicles.

Until then Porsche had only produced S versions of the turbos with the 965 Turbo S lightweight was the forerunner to the 993 version. As we know the S version of the 993 turbo kept its 4WD and full weight.

So Porsche badged the 993 as 911GT and it was raced heavily, the marketing guys cottoned on big time and the GT2, GT3 and now GT4 brands were born
