Rufus gets a nose job
Rufus (almost 140,000 miles) had many paint chips on the front bumper and air scoops, and I thought that SOMEDAY I'd get it repainted. Well, I hit a good sized rock on the way back from Montana, and that took a divot out of the front spoiler lip. So, SOMEDAY arrived.
I took Rufus to Carmat right here in Santa Cruz. They pulled off the bumper and then I took Rufus to Fastlane to look into the oil leak at the aux oil cooler and to relocate the ambient air temp sensor (so it doesn't show oil temp, but actually can get ambient air), and as long as it was there, an oil change. Then off to my house for a deep cleaning of all the oil crud. The leak was simply loose fittings.
The fiberglass repair guy at Carmat did an amazing job of repairing the bumper, getting rid of lots of old bondo, and got a PERFECT match with the paint. I had all of the old protective film removed and had Carmat do an exterior detail (never done before on Rufus). The results are amazing... I'll no longer be embarrassed to park next to Kevin's Turbo R. I'm basically storing the car for 4 weeks before I get new film applied.
I don't think the car has ever looked this good!

Can't wait to see the results Steve!! But let's be honest Rufus an "embarrassed" are two words that never belong together. She'll always be the ultimate RUF.
We're long overdue for a drive! I actually took my RUF out for the first time in a while and it was sublime. I fall in love with her every time I turn the key.

Steve: That is great. Ruby always looked good; now, even better. If anyone has to be embarrassed around here, it is I. Black is bad enough, but old black is the worst. Kevin has a good idea so we can see the results.

Haha, yes I know... pictures. But... photos won't really show much, and Rufus is under a cover in the garage. Pictures next time I get him out for a warm-up drive. As far as a get-together ride goes... I'll be ready in 4 weeks or so!

Rufus and Kevin's RUF, now that would be just awesome to see and take a cruise with, you guys should consider coming to 993FEST next year.
Any chance you guys have any photoshoot shots of the 2 rides together? Post them up, would be great to see.
