993TT Market Values?

What is odd about the 190k no sale TT at the Mecum Monterey sale this last week... is that the auction notes specified the car was sold new in California... but that the car could not be registered in CA?
I wonder what that is about?

Just a guess but I'm sure it has something to do with Mecum and the auction process. Mecum may be forced that statement because they would be on the hook for state sales taxes or maybe there is some convoluted law in CA that requires some crazy specific and/or expensive beurocratic registration or certification on the part of the seller/auctioneer to facilitate a sale at an auction. So many CA government entities with their hands out.

Not a wrap, plastidip (mixed 2cans of red and one can of black).

RS4.0 not too shabby either. Being a PCA instructor and having the opportunity to drive some serious iron on the track, there isn't much that can combine the performance & feel & connectedness of the forced induction 993. Then when you park it, there isn't much that can compare with the styling. As the years roll on I think the values continue to go only one direction.

Jeeeze - you want $220k and you won't even get the readiness codes set for auction???? Such a common occurrence. If it's in a dealer inventory or personal seller can they not get it smogged 'on record' so it's clean on a CA smog record report?

Historically classic car prices have gyrated wildly over time because of speculation. When they rise this fast they usually drop even faster. Anyone who gets caught holding a car purchased at these prices will inevitably end up cryin' in their M1 V Twin.
