Wow, now you're getting silly. Keep this up and you will be able to pick up your car with your own hands.

I'm really joking, it is amazing what items can be replaced with CF. You could shave a lot of weight off the car with enough time.

yup I agree... it's never ending, I can make a dead pedal, floor boards, mount for my cameras, mount for my data logger display - I made all of these out of aluminum at one point but in cf, they'd be quite a bit lighter. Just time consuming. I want to make a scoop/grill for the tail but it's a little big so might need to make it in two pieces.

I also made another set of exhaust tips last weekend, they are not cf (literally my ?6th or 7th set? that I've made and not worthy of a separate thread, also I broke my tig welder/stopped working ..) Just bigger and simpler than my current set. Was thinking about using high temp epoxy and making some in cf.

You're an inspiration. I admire your ingenuity and attitude, as if nothing is a barrier.

Thanks for sharing your art.

The turbos like the cool weather, had it out the other day and scared myself with wheel spin going through peak torque at 3/4 throttle in 4th gear...

check this out, petty cool if I may say so myself...
saw someone having cf parts made for his race car on the 993 forum so thought I could make some of the pieces myself.
If you guys remember, I made an aluminum tunnel cover a while back when I put an SSK in.
Stock 2.6 Kg, my diy aluminum cover 2.0 Kg,
CF cover 0.4 kg!

I think there's a few more pieces I can make under the car, like the cover for the fuel pump..

^ I may be missing it in the pictures, though didn't you need to create a 'recess' in the CF part to accommodate the SSK? Or is this only necessary with the Golden Rod in unison with the SSK?

Oh yeah, yes you do, sorry haven't explained all the things I've done... I've changed to 2wd and have the regular 2wd SSK that doesn't need the bump!

^ would need a stock one that's been dimpled with the sledge hammer to use as a mold...

Just installed the tunnel cover and realized my rechargable impact wrench is missing (my garage was broken into a few weeks ago... DAM! - had to install a new alarm system and better locks) oh well I guess I get to buy a new one.
Working on the fuel pump cover, should be able to finish it tomorrow.

had time to do more work, Family Day (holiday) here in BC today - installed!
could have made it prettier by adding another coat of epoxy but didn't think it would be necessary underneath the car.
