Default A funny thing happened on the way to the track

Well not that funny ..... Tire did not loss air pressure the cord just came apart. Checked the camber and was fine before and after readings. Just a bad tire, I guess Im glad it happened on the freeway at 65 and not at 100+ on the track. The jack broke as I was lowering the car. Fun day !

wow, too bad. glad you're safe!
btw, the spare tire is not intended according to the manual to be used on the rear. If you have a flat on the rear, you are supposed to use the spare in the front and use the front tire in the rear...

Just went through the Owners Manual for Spare Wheel and unable to find anything about using Collapsible Emergency Spare Tire on front only. The Owners manual does say if you put it on the front or rear use 36 psi. So I would think that means its OK on the rear. If you say "put it on front only" that sounds important so what manual are you referring to ? This has not been my first blow out and the other was also the rear, due to a slow leak low pressure . Another Fun Day !!

Ouch, glad it didn't end with a major problem. Time for a new jack and tires.

yeah glad you are ok. that would have been much more dramatic on track. I have also read in the manual put it only on the front but I would've called a flat bed anyway.

" I have also read in the manual put it only on the front"
Went over the Owners Manual today and not a word about it. May be '96 was different than '97 ? Or is there a different manual ? Just trying to clear it up. Probably not my last bad tire !
