If my memory is correct I looked at that car about 5 yrs ago before the po. The original owner was from Miami The car was imported from Germany and has the euro s engine? With s tail pipes and a lot of exclusive options rear seat delete old school cell phone upgrade suspension and brakes. I think in Europe you could get turbo s engine (435hp?) as an option. Very nic e car. Good luck. B

Thanks for the info. It did come out of FL and all of your input seems to match. I have no idea about the S engine but that would be a sweet option... We'll see what I get back from the dealer and will also get a certificate of authenticity as well to be sure.

Thanks.

Care to tell us about the 550 Spyder? I'm no expert on them, but seems like the beck's are a good option if the real deal is out of touch...

The 550 Spyder is a Thunder Ranch 550-6 kit. To my knowledge they purchased Beck's original tooling for their cars The 6 cylinder kits are a completely different tube frame chassis then the more popular 4 cylinder ones. They've made 5 or 6 of these kist and over 330 4-cylinder versions.

The motor is a 1973 2.4 911s motor. It is twin plugged and has electronic ignition. It produced around 205hp which is 15 more than the production 911s motor. With it weighing in at approx. 1,400lbs... she moved.

4-wheel discs brakes, 10qt Peterson oiling system and many other cool options. She was a blast to drive. it was sold a few months ago and went down to Orange County.

UPDATE:

I looked at the Carfax again and this car may be a US car but the first date on CarFax history was from 10/27/2000 when the car arrived at US Customs with 25,000 miles on the clock. It states "Vehicle exported from Germany and imported to Brunswick, GA". This doesn't mean that it is a ROW but at least it spent some time where it was born before heading to us.

Still waiting for Certificate of Authenticity and for my buddy to get back with me from his email he sent to Porsche NA.

On the 993 board there is a post (911Pervy???) where he can get all the option codes for any Porsche VIN. Sounds like that would be pretty fast too.

Your car sounds pretty great!!!!

Alright Sir, as I promised here is the photo. It was not even in the exclusive options catalog, but in the 25 years of Exclusive book I brought back from the Porsche museum. See pic below, clearly labeled Blaupunkt, but the button layout is different from what you have. What is mounted to the right of the navigation?

Default Thanks, great pic

That looks similar. what is mounted on the right side of my screen for the NAV system is a remote. It used to have a cord connected to it it wasn't in great shape from the years so they cut it off and kept the remote in place.

I can get a closer picture if needed. It seems crazy that the system fits so well into a plastic made container to fit inside the spare tire and also the computer system as well.

This information is what shows on the dealer's computer when you bring in your car for service. It is by no means complete.

PCNA just finished their research on my newly acquired 993 Carrera and found several options that were not listed on the sticker and do not show up on dealer's computers. Based on these results I realized that my current 993 Carrera stickered for close to $10K more than my old 993 C4S did due to the long list of Exclusive options (based on the VIN the two cars were built about 2 weeks apart from each other). So my suggestion is to call PCNA and order a Certificate of Authenticity. Mention PCA or Panorama and you get 10% off

Default Update

This is what was sent to my local Porsche dealer from Porsche US after looking into it for several weeks.

- I am still waiting for the certificate of authenticity as well which hopefullly will clear up the confusion.

note: the main description is in German and a "decent" translation is beneath prior to listing the next code.

Thanks,
Bryan

Apparently my "quota for pics" has been exceeded.. I even deleted all the ones that they allowed me to, not sure what's wrong. Maybe my membership expired. Will renew soon and update.
