Both are fun cars, don't get me wrong, not trying to bust on the 996tt. Some of it has to with the way this particular 993tt was set up by previous owners. Having s suspension and a LWF makes the car much more sporty and handles much better. The smell inside an air cooled Porsche is pretty unmistakable, as one person put it, car has a Eau De Porsche. The build quality can be sensed instantly upon shutting the door and carries right on to driving. The 964 pictured in the garage has 135k miles and is solid as a rock. Most importantly and this probably goes without saying, blue is by far the fastest and sexiest color.

Beyond that, a 993 looks better to me. I'd guess most if not all in this forum feel that way as well. Flip side is the 996tt engine is pretty bullet proof and much cheaper and easier to upgrade. Exhaust and a tune for a few grand can add 80-100 HP. Not to mention the current prices are great, it is a lot of car for what people are getting these days.

The PSS10 suspension I put on this car seriously improves the handling and fun factor. I will probably put it on my 996 turbo when the time comes. I found the smoothness and drivability of the 993 far superior to the 996. I sold the 993 because I will not have room for both soon and I never would have used the 993 as a DD. Would have been a crime.
