I generally do not agree with the practices of ANY car dealer, especially used car dealers. I think that Laurent MAY have been burned but he should have hired a lawyer and paid a lawyer to write this up. Unfortunately many will take his use of the language against him.

Car dealers are after all car dealers, the lowest of the lowest in the community. I would also rate most of the mechanics in the same category and yes I have been burnt by these scum bags too

Agree that most (if not all) car dealers/mechanics are ruthless grease bags, but don't place yourself at the mercy of their actions. Take steps to avoid letting them do what they want. For the most part, trust no one and always cover your a$$! I would hope his accusations are untrue. If not hopefully he resolves it to his benefit. Just the scale of corruption that he's layed out is sort of hard to fathom. Dealer, yes any day of the week. DMV, Mayor, Police Chief.........???? Don't see some car dealer having their hooks into all facets of the system without loose ends somewhere to trip everyone up. Who knows, this is CA, stranger things have happened.

Where there's smoke there is generally fire.

Any one heard of Bruce McCaw and the 1974 RSR he bought off Canepa? Follow that trail and yet another amazing story of dealer wrong doing appears.

Ask Jerry Woods about his dealings? Ask others who have been burned. It doesn't take much to uncover the dirt.

I've been told that you haven't made it in this business unless you have a Canepa story to tell.
