New Record for Turbo S optimism?

Collectible cars in general are having a great 18-24 mos. Interesting to see the flight of $ to hard assets. However is a 993tt S really worth 50% of a choice 959? Fascinating times!

I paid $225k for my 5000 mile car about 7 months ago and have been offered more than I paid for it already... the market is strong on these right now and I don't think it will soften any time soon. that being said, that 180 mile car has been around for a while now, I was offered the car for 300K... at least my car with 5K on it I will drive... 180 mile car, I wouldn't want to drive.

But rarity does not automatically confer collectibility and with all due respect the S is a relatively minor variant of the 993tt. They are wonderful cars but do they represent an ownership experience or a place in collections on par with 959, 911RS, 35'6 Carrera etc etc? Just doesnt seem like the same 'milestone' car?

So I'm genuinely interested in hearing:
What is the case for a $300K tt S?

The 993TTS is my favorite 911 (and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way). If I were in the market, I'd have to seriously consider this car because it would be akin to buying a brand new one. If there were more sub-500 mile cars on the market, the price would drop. If they wanted to unload it quickly, they could mark it at $195k and it would probably be sold within a couple of days. I think they plan on waiting it out until they get the right buyer.
Their target market is small, and if you're questioning the price, you aren't their target market. They're waiting for someone wants a new 993 Turbo S, and to whom cost is (relatively) no object. I think that person probably exists somewhere, but I could be wrong.
