No. All came equipped with hydraulic lifters. Same as your car. Only very seriously modded cars were converted to mechanical lifters due to the problems I described in an earlier post. The advantage... you can use a more radical cam profile.

Thank you
Did you wind up buying the car? Interested as I spoke to owner awhile back but it was a bit too modded for me and price was a bit inflated I thought.

I did not buy it either, I asked for more pics and specific info but I did not hear back. Meantime I ended up putting a deal together on a polar 96. That 97 is pretty awesome though!

If I were in the market, I'd be doing some research on this car:

Love the metallic black & factory X50 option is very rare thing....

My understanding is the buyer of that car is exporting it to Norway.

So, Let me get this straight... In europe the get 993 turbos (ROW spec) Drive them like they stole them. Total them, convert them, drive them to the ground. Once they are ruined, The guys come to the USA to ****** up our limited supply of rare birds to do it all over again??? We've gotta become activists against this!!! LOL!!!

What were the USA version production numbers for 96 and 97 again???
