RUF v Ferrari - I'll take the RUF!
Well it's been just under a year of Ferrari ownership. Love both cars and I have to say I've been much more impressed with the Ferrari than I ever thought I would be. The sound is intoxicating and to most the looks eclipses that of the RUF.
The 360 is a 2004 with 6 speed gated manual, tubi exhaust, factory sport seats, shields and challenge grills. It handles like a dream and actually pulls much harder than I would expect with "just" 400 ponies. Naturally aspirated motor and throttle response are tough to beat and spinning up to 8500 revs is heavenly, BUT...
This is rennlist and the RUF will always be my favorite car! It is so much more raw and visceral and pulls like frieght train. In a straight line there is no comparison (not by a long shot). But the RUF is so much more than straightline performance. I love the shape and looks, the compactness, the cockpit, the sounds, the brakes... I even love that it's now going on 16 years old.
To 9 out of 10 people the Ferrari gets the looks, but it's that 1 out of 10 who know what a 993 really is and to people like that (all of us!!!) the Ferrari might as well be a Honda Prius (no offense to you Prius owners).
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Thanks for allowing me to be part of this forum all these years.
Cheers!
Kevin

STOP
Kevin for the love of GOD please stop posting pics of your car.... makes my decision to sell even harder every time I see yours looking so amazing! Even here hanging with a your newer 360! (an amazing car in its own right)
You have one of the all time greats in that car, congrats!
This doesnt mean much, but I know many ferarri owners and met some randoms... some buy as they are true car nutz like us, others buy because well its a ferrari.... you will never come across a RUF Turbo R car owner and not be face to face with another true particular sports car fanatic!
great pic and thanks for sharing...
happy Holidays as well!

Gorgeous driveway Kevin. Have a merry christmas! I vote RUF hands down but having multiple great cars really helps you focus on what you love of each car.

Hard man comparing a Ferrari to a Honda, but I get what you mean.
Two very different cars, and yes, a twin turbo will always pull like a train. I miss that sometimes.
It's all subjective and how it makes you feel at the end of the day.
One day I will own both, but until then the 360 will just have to do I guess

I'm doing my best to try and convince you to keep your RUF! you've done such an amazing job with that car I hope you get to enjoy her for at least a bit. Wish you lived closer. Would be awesome to get the RUF's together!!!

Both are great cars but I also prefer the 993; I love how small it is when compared to any modern Ferrari.
Do you have any side by side pictures?
Enjoy them in good health.
