What is Santa giving you on the rebuild list?

It happened at WGI with my foot matted to the floor. Best guess is that I ingested a valve. It pushed a slurry of metal shavings through the motor and oil lines. Case and crank were tested and OK.
Rebuild list is something along the lines of:
New P&C's
1 new head
Pauter Rods arp bolts
GT2 Cams
Jerry Woods Bearings
new Valves
titanium retainers / race springs
K24/16g turbos

ya know nothing major....

Haha... It's like you were begging for it!

Why Pauter rods? Why not Carillo? Is it a personal choice?
Your build seems very similar to mines except I am stepping into GT30s.

I'm told there are clearance issues with the carillos.

Nothing that can be worked, I am told they are better but it also comes down to personal choice. Either way very nice spec sheet.

Wow, ya know JB weld can do amazing things. No but really, if your converting to a mechanical setup you should talk troy at EBS they have good pricing on the springs and ti hats and P.Cs Also if you need mechanical rockers you can get them from Dougherty Racing cams. The have a conversion setup. For the head work, I was very happy with Verden tool. When i received my heads back I inspected and they were flat within .001 and all the same height within .002. let me know if you need contact info.

you're right. either choice is up to the task. I just figured I'd spare a bit of machine work. When its done, it should be able to make substantially more power with a greater degree of reliability. Which is good because my only intention is to take it back to the track and abuse it.

My understanding is that mechanical lifters are more trouble than their worth. Presented with the pro's and con's I think I'm going to keep them as is. Thanks for the advice.

The rebuild has nothing to do with luck. It has a lot to do with money. It will be back out on track as soon as its finished.
