993TT wedding
I plan to celebrate my wedding with a lovely 97 993TT 70 000km (40k miles) this week-end. Turbodan helped my with PPI details but the celebrant would like to know if anyone in the room as something to say before I say I DO!
The car belongs to a Kevin Ledrew, he had it for 3 years. It was bought at Seagal motors in Toronto and the previous owner was Allan Maclean Howard (7 years). Before that, PFAFF in Toronto, MVL leasing and Seagal Motors had the car while few 1 year owners enjoyed the car for a summer fling.
Thanks for helping

since we agreed on the price, he removed his add on the autotrader.ca It's a fully original 993tt artic silver on black interior (bucket seats), original wheels and exhaust 70 000km. PPI is excellent. There only a compression test that has to be done..

My car passed a compression test (@ 24,000) but failed a leakdown. Teardown revealed one badly worn exhaust valve guide. Do a leakdown is my advice before saying I do.

Sorry to hear that but glad you found out before spending your money! Was this the silver one that was in the autotrader for mid $70's? I think it was in Mississauga???

Why will repaint be such a big deal? Pardon my ignorance but a paint job done properly with a professinal shop should not hurt that much...will it? If paint is done with original color I don't see it hurting the car. Just me I guess.

Glad to see you took the necessary precautions and found out the truth before you purchased. Any others on the horizon ?
I wouldn't think so especially if the shop used the same color code to match the original. I think the question would need to be why was painted in the first place. (accident, faded paint)

Second - nondisclosure is a deal killer for me and many others. What else aren't you telling me about?
Third - why a whole body re-paint? There is a story there and as a buyer, it had better be good. But see number 2 above... no trust

@ Onami: yes that one. Now we know the story when it will come back on the market!
The paint job was good, but when you are paying top $$$ for an original piece that is advertised with original paint and what you see is not what you were expecting..... What was hidden under that paint? Cover up? Right rear wing was not exactly as left one... Suddenly the owner told me he had a 5k$ claim for a new bumper but that doesn't show on the carfax.... Too many things that made me walk away...
Yes I am still looking for one... but I will take a short break.... I'm in a bad mood right now!

I thought so. I thought that the car was overpriced even before finding out about the repaint. Check out Jamie140's car in the Canadian section. He usually has nice cars for sale.
