993 Turbo S Upgrade
Have been lurking in these forums for a few months...awaiting my childhood dream car.
I have just acquired a 1996 TT with the factory "S" upgrade performed on it in 2006.
Any issues with these upgrades to be aware of?(apart from speeding tickets of course!)
PPI done by a well known Porsche Gold Meister tech(who does private work as well) and it came through with flying colours.
Any and all advice would be appreciated, as I am new to the p car marque!

Welcome JB.
What exactly do you mean by the S upgrade? Oil cooler? ecu?, turbo's.
As a modded car owner, I would opine zero problems from a factory S type performance upgrade.
The US "S" cars were only 24 extra horses and the European version was 50 I believe.

Didn't the 'S' have yellow brake calipers, carbon interior, side intakes etc? Presume yours got an aftermarket X50 engine upgrade in either 430 or 450bhp form - new ecu, additional oil cooler behind the front PU, K24 turbos (for the 450bhp version - the 430bhp upgrade used the standard K16's) and I see there's a 4 pipe exhaust system as well.
Congrats on your purchase - no known issues that are specific to the upgraded motor.

Welcome and beautiful car!
I've actually seen your TT a few times, spoke with the previous owner only a few months back.
If I'm correct you have a very nice upgraded intercooler under there with some nice piping etc. CF interior upgrades too.
No issues with that car, but keep reading cause you'll learn a lot on these forums.
Look forward to seeing you around the local p-car scene. Def pop by Mike J's BBQ - Aug 18th.

Thanks for all the quick replies and compliments!
I looked at some other vehicles but the Polar Silver is just a gorgeous colour and the European bumpers clean up the look!
The S upgrade includes the K 24 turbos,ECU upgrade,extra oil cooler,different exhaust/muffler(twin pipes instead of single)
Yes, it has a different intercooler(not sure if it is FVD/Car Graphics from Germany)
Bilstein PSS-9 coil overs.
Also does have the carbon fibre interior bits as well.
I had everything checked out and the vehicle serviced (including the spark plugs changed,as they were out for compression/leak down, and due in 6500 miles anyway)front bushings replaced as well with a 4 wheel alignment.
Car has 38,500 miles on it and I hope to put many more smiling miles on her!
Should be in my garage in the next week(put in a Rotary Revolution 2 post lift especially for her!)
