Did you fix the front trunk rails? I looked at Barney way back before you bought it, but that stopped me. I might have a guy interested, but he will want that fixed.

No, I didn't. The cost/benefit ratio on doing that just isn't that favorable......at least for me.

Drifting
The "silver" 993 part number supercedes to 996 559 237 03 4PU, which is chrome. I don't know how different they actually are.

The accident I referenced in the Criagslist ad _did_ get into
the frame rails up by the spare tire well. It appears to have been
repaired as part of the accident repair, but it is still noticeable
when you pull the carpeting back and go looking for it.

one in person, you know that not only is the color off, but the script
is off too. To me, the more visually pleasing option was to order the
badge for a 1994 964 Turbo 3.6 (and just not use the "3.6" portion of
the badge). The color is still a little off in that it's not as silver
as the original badge, but it's also not as chrome-y as the 996
badge.....but the script is a dead match, so it's much more of a match
to the orignal.
I ordered it from Sunset for ~$47 about 1.5 - 2 months ago. I had
heard that they were NLA from someone, but when I bought mine, Sunset
said there were 5 in the country and no signs that it was going to be
NLA. I don't have the part# handy, but can get it for you in the next
few days if you'd like it.

As you were informed, the ACTUAL 993 badge is NLA and superceded by the 996 badge...I found this out the hard way. If you have ever seen
one in person, you know that not only is the color off, but the script
is off too. To me, the more visually pleasing option was to order the

Perfect color if your a Baltimore Raven's fan. Is the interior color Inner Harbor Pigeon Grey ? With the 2ng gear+trunk problems I suspect hi-40ks; the trans alone could be $7k.

I love Barney. I remember when you bought the car and the front end issue came up then .. and I have to say bravo for being up-front about it and passing on the info. Knowing everything, I'm like you, I don't think it's worth repairing for cosmetics if the car is perfect otherwise .. better to put that money toward fixing the windshield and cowl trough and swapping out the by-pass pipes to get it smogged ..
Anyway, you're a year too early for me dammit. Otherwise we'd be swapping bank wire info ... GLWS!
