Lucky you, I've never seen either actually running! I'll make a note to introduce myself if I see the owner out with one of them.

I suspect that what you are noticing is not that they are no longer here, it is just that they are not for sale. In other words, if there were 180 in the US 5 years ago, perhpas 5 were for sale at once; now only one is for sale, but I don't think that the number here has dropped by 80%. Even if every one that had been for sale over the past 5 yearsd went abroad, there are still a huge number here. They've just found homes with people who want to keep them rather than trade them.

I was surprised that my brief internet search only turned up one in the US (200k at Sloan).

Why is there such a high demand for that specific model in germany?
I'm not so sure that the US model are so high in demand in Germany,
The euro model has more Hp and more difference than the US model

Still I just don't get the 2X price vs. a regular one.

Would have to do something very special other than fake scoops and 5% or so more power to make me crave it that much

+2

Turbo S doesn't do it for me. My feeling is that the cut outs in the rear fenders for the air ducts ruins the lines/look of the car. On the fence about the different rear wing.

Wouldn't trade my TT for one.

I heard the rear ducts are just for show and serve no purpose

love everything about the car except the price.... and for that reason I wouldn't feel comfortable spending the money to buy one even if I had the coin lying around

I've argued previously that I expect my cost of owning the TTS to be no higher than the non-S. Maintenance and insurance are about the same, storage costs the same. So the cost comes down to depreciation vs. cost of the money tied up in the purchase price. When I bought, I bet that the premium would not fall and it hasn't. For me, the cost of owning the S has probably been lower than the non-S because the premium has probably gone up and my money tied up in the premium is worth about 2% a year to me. I think I paid something like a $30k premium when I bought 6 years ago, so I'd need about $34 over a non-S to have broken even.

993TurboS. Wow! She looks like a twin to mine! Does you car have the sport seats? Also what's your mileage count? I'm at 47,000! Yes, forty-seven thousand!

Is your Metallic Black? I don't have the sport seats and am at about 31k now in miles.
