I changed out the diverter valves to a couple from MODE INC I put it all back together this weekend and got her ready for the season. Here's what it sounds like with straight pipes...

Ha! the Demo Car is my 86 e30 LeMons Racer. I went with the Talledega NIghts- Laughing Clown Malt Liquor scheme since I already have all of the Race suits from the movie. This is me catching a little drift at Summit Point -Capitol Offense last year.

correct, DV's don't impact exhaust note.
That said the Mode Inc dv's are a nice little product and seem pretty fail proof. They have actaully been in my car for some time, and I thought it would be smart to check springs and seals. I put all new O-rings, but the old ones seemed fine. They had a bunch of oil in em tho. Mod for this weekend.... Check Valves.
