Light throttle problem

Good to hear that you found the issue.
It is interesting that the misfiring only occurred with light load; ignition problems generally will first show up only under heavy load. But, this story goes to show that checking the basics first is always a good idea, even though some of these "basics" are time-consuming to access on these cars!

I was advised that under heavy load the current was 'stronger' and hence was better able to jump the gap between the lead and plug connector where it had pulled apart. I'm no electrical engineer, but that sounds plausible. The spark plug connector itself (that pushes onto the plug itself and screws onto the lead) had also failed (giving the wrong resistance).
By the way, Magnecor was the brand of leads recommended as a full replacement set (the 8mm ones). Anyone have good or bad things to say for these, rather than going with OE Beru?
