This is Lapis Blue over Camel, right?

I love the car - it is beautiful....I just can't get my head around the wood details on the wheel and shifter. When I spoke to the dealer, he suggested lacquering them in black - which I thought wasn't a bad idea - BUT then the car becomes 'altered'....oh veh. It is a lot of bread too...

you could change out the wheel shifter and hand brake to get rid of the wood, although those pieces would cost a few grand, and the price is already high...but a nice car and colour...at least they didn't order the wood dash trim!

The lumber on the interior would have to go. Yes the car is nice but I thought it looked tired and dirty (door jambs, carpets, fenders gaps in storage area, gack by e-brake handle, rubber moldings, engine compartment is a disaster, scuffs on dash, patena is wrong on the seats, and the paint is hologramed) for a 21000 mile car. But I guess that is the PCA Concours judge coming out in me. The price is that of a kings ransom as well.

I might be able to access a gently used cashmere brake handle and shift **** if that would help. My previous 993C2 which was totalled, was/is black on cashmere, it is coming back to life as a track car.

Obviously not Ocean blue, looks good though, wheel, shifter & brake wood bring good money & at least pay for half of replacements, dealers are still keeping these things high.

Not sure who would by from willhoit, m goldman, or some of the others who ask the moon for em', just means there's always a buyer for one of ours.

I think it is Ocean Blue - my favourite colour - rare911s, just really crappy lighting. That's what Jeff Segal'd sell it for in Toronto.

Maybe? I think Lapis, purplish, that doesn't look to have any metallic, What are the fees to get a $80k car into Canada? I hear they're pretty steep.

Fees on $ 80K are 6.1 % duty on the $ 80K - and another smallish tax grab program called 'RIV' for vehicles under 15 years old which involves a compliance letter from the vehicle manufacturer, some minor mods (daytime running lights and some bilingual safety stickers) and other forms to fill...not complicated but a process non the less. When you plate the vehicle there is 13% VAT on the $ 80K and another minor fee (+- $ 60.00) for your tags.

Believe it or not, a couple of years ago you could still save a fortune buying in the US and importing up - but that ship has by and large sailed - selection better in the US for sure but after duties, RIV, transport and risk...better be one smokin deal.
