Rollover
Ran across these photos posted on another board. The description in the post mentioned this car has an Andial 3.8 twin plug motor. The car is in the SF Bay area and, with tan sport seats and no sunroof, this must be Don's (911/Q45) former car. Not much info posted with the photos. It was mentioned that driver survived. Drive safe everyone....

Of all places, ran across the photos in the random picture thread on Pelican Parts' Off Topic Forum. Check post #39866 from 12/19/11.

so sad. glad to hear driver is ok. didn't he have a rollbar in that car? ironic that Don put so many track miles on that car and it rolls on the streets.

Yeah, I've been in a number of situations where I'm accelerating and the driver in front doesn't realize I'm coming up on them at a fair clip and switches into my lane. Have to be extra careful in those situations (or at a turn off off a hwy and a slower car in front decides to leave the hwy at the last minute - this one gets me occasionally since I usually speed up to use the off ramp...). Be careful out there guys!

That's a scary picture.
Are you guys suggesting it was this Andial car? Wheels are different (easy to change, I know). It was sold to another Rennlister:

Hi Guys,
That is Don's old car that I purchased about a year ago. A highway avoidance maneuver at a good clip got the car sideways and it rolled after the passenger side rear corner hit the wall and the tire/wheel dug in. The car saved my life and I am very lucky to be able to tell the story. These cars are built like Fort Knox.
This event is a very sad ending to a fun and reliable 150k miles and an excellent vehicle. The insurance company was easy to deal with, put a good value on the car and took back possession of the car this past Monday.
The photos show the roof as a bit more "smushed" than it was after the accident. I have a feeling the salvage people weren't too careful when flipping the car back over. I wasn't there to supervise.
I'll be taking the motor, any good drivetrain parts as well as any good interior parts out and have slowly begun the search for a rolling chassis or high mileage turbo to put it all in.
Anybody have any leads? Willing to spend for the right chassis/ car to build something nice.
Thanks to everybody and happy holidays

Three Wheelin'
Well I believe this qualifies as a "making lemonade out of lemons" story. Good luck with the search, build, etc. Glad you're OK. Time for a GT2 clone?
