Default racing Stripe

I don't know if this is crazy or not, but I am thinking of running one blue racing stripe about 12" wide from tail to fronty of the hood. I would use a vinyl decal so I could remove if I hate it or sell the car (g-d forbid!) Anydody done that and have pictures. thanks

There's a member on here from England (Essex IIRC) that has done many track oriented mods to his TTS that has a stripe(s) similar to what you're mentioning...can't for the life of me remember his handle. Sorry.

The car looks good with the stripe.

You are correct.

But, do as you please. It's your car.

Having seen a blue TT with a white stripe, I wouldnt do it. I guess if you got some mock ups of different stripe widths you might be able to find the right size. Your car in the end.

I'm not sure a '69 Comaro stripe is the answer but I find white cars akin to a blank page, a bit featureless and wanting for some colour. Maybe there is a custom decal design firm that can do something to spice up an otherwise awsome car?

There's an S or a 4S on the 993 forum with a wide center stripe that actually looks pretty cool .. I'll look for it and see if I can hook you up.

Thanks appreciate that. Given the feedback it seems most think it's not a great idea, but if I use vinyl I can remove if I don't like it. I just think white cars can use a little "something"......

If it was a dedicated track car, I'd say do it. Street car.......not so much.

Well, I stole the guy's Avatar... and blew it up a little so it's blurry, but it still gives you a good sense of what it could look like. I like it .. but my taste has been called 'dodgy' in the past :-) I would even consider doing one in Riviera Blue on a white car .. BTW, user's name is 'hoggel' from SLC, Utah If this is not cool, let me know and I'll remove it .. but it IS his Avatar ...

I like this idea, especially a blue stripe on a white car. I'm anxious to see how this will look. Purists may blanche, but its fun to "personalize" our cars, especially if its easily reversible. I say go for it.

thanks for sharing. I would love to see the entire stripe. I am thinking blue stripe but without the small pinstripes and not quite as wide.- about 12"
