I went 5-6 months with no P1140/check engine - maybe 1100 miles. What a blessing. Then after sitting in traffic and temps getting close to 9 o'clock position, it came on like in the past - light throttle, low revs, 76mph steady.

The TPS seemed to help. I got the one code mentioned above. Cleared it and it never came back until now.

I always wonder about these fuel trim %'s My short term on both engine banks is 1.6% but on the long term trims it's -0.8% Left 4.7% Right. (In the past with thin oil I had smoke out the left pipe - the paranoia sets in)

Air filters are changed with every oil service as a SOP? I don't see them on my last invoice or the one before.

Replace your MAF sensor if you haven't already.

I told the shop to consider that the MAF is what needs to be replaced. Is there a way they can 'test' the maf. Ultimately, that is what is next I guess.

Any recent experiences with the P1140 code? Causes and corrective actions? MAF is fine, air filter is stock and no vacuum leaks. Comes on 50-75 miles after resetting the codes under normal driving conditions.

I have an update regarding my car. Sorry I'm a post *****.

My AIR FILTER had NOT been changed for an unknown number of years. I assumed it was a standard replacement at oil change. I had it changed with my goldenrod upgrade late last fall and have since had no problems with CEL. It looked pretty dirty but not offroad jeep dirty. It had been in there for at least 3 years 6000 miles possibly longer.
