Turbo "S" oil cooler installed
Just installed a new Turbo "S" oil cooler from Gert and while not cheap, made a noticeable difference lowering the oil temp. I'm running factory K-24's and FVD ECU, so when on the gas for a bit on a hot day, it would run up the oil temp. Maybe I didn't HAVE to install it but if I ever track the car or for piece of mind, I had it done. It does make a difference and the A/C still works great!

Bass993, what are you worried about, the ice on your lakes won't melt till July, then winter starts again 3 months later!
Who did the install?
I've thought about doing this upgrade, but I have all stock power, and no engine tray. I drove one day last year when it was 102 degrees. Car ran in the same temp range as if it were 72 out.
In all fairness, it was 92 in places here yesterday. We broke a very old high temp record.

For the street driven car the "S" cooler will just keep up. The oil cooler that is a MUST have for track duty is the GT2 full size cooler which sits with the A/C condensor. RUF or Cargraphic offer these units.
The "S" unit is rated for 430HP output.

Winter? It's year around except for the 3 months where its really gets hot and muggy (saw 92 yesterday). The K24 turbo's make the difference for oil temp. HP = Heat. FVD says 490hp but who knows. The install was done by the local Porsche dealer who has some really excellent mechanics who love this type of project. Everything was very well done. I don't plan to track the car and if I do, I'll wait for a chilly Fall day at Brainerd!

When I first tracked my FVD 490 kit car which had the S oil cooler, the temperature gauge would go up to 9:00 or 10:00 O'clock during a session.
I installed the Cargraphics unit and the problem was solved.
