Thoughts on this turbo

What is the market for a 993 TT which hasnt been modified? I know its a range depending but higher mileage cars like this are going for what these days? From the looks of Ebay and others like collector car trader the range is 70k-80k so would that make this car worth around 60k? I assume like other Porsche's once you make major mods like this the price goes down a bit?

DFW,
Its a nice looking car. Black is the meanest you know that right?
There are some expensive upgrades on there - the techart bar and rear wing for starters along with the front duct lights. The audio gear looks well done - if you want audio gear - its one of the nicest installations I have seen.
Does any of the stock stuff come with it? Wheels? Bars? Wing etc?
And the maintenance records?
Get a PPI by someone that KNOWS these cars - as mentioned earlier - RAC - if it passes - get the boost checked and leave it at lower than 1.2Bar. The intercooler looks big - but as we know - wont flow or be effective for very long - for the HP they are talking about - but unless you want a Secan......
Edit - just saw the 607 HP at crank comment. If they are running 1.2 bar to get this - then the the owner got great miles out of this mod!!
Judging by others that have sold - the price might be bit high.
IF you want an AR car - do not buy this. It will be harder to move if you end up seeing the one you really like...... as the original porsche ad on the poster for this car says....

There is a new AR/gray 993 turbo with 59K miles just listed on autotrader yesterday. 60K miles recently completed and looked like its in really good shape. It has sports seats and looks mainly stock with suspension work. That looks like the nicest AR on the market right now.

I have been looking for the right 993 turbo but there are so few of them being traded right now..

These cars are air cooled, more power makes more heat. I read details of the autothority mods, but didnt see anything about additional oil coolers. They are a must. besides that. Yes these cars are very capable of producing a lot of torque & power, but with any tuned motor, you are stressing components more than you would with stock and that reduces longevity. By how much?? Anyones guess.

There is a thread on that car in Columbus. Why would anyone seriously consider that car if the dealership will not allow compression and leak down tests? That is a deal breaker on an air cooled car IMHO.

That thread was started by me. I agree that situation would be a deal breaker but it appears something was taken out of context in that thread because the dealer has been completely open and honest thus far.
