I never had these x-rayed. but I always checked them. Checked them Friday morning before I put them on. Drove fri & sat, this happenend saturday afternoon. Aluminum are a touch heavier, but definitely stronger. BBS discontunied Mags for this reason. These wheels were probably 8-10 years old. A touch disconcerting to say the least. WGI is not the place you want to throw a wheel off.

nah these wheels are old. This is not uncommon. BBS wants me to send them the current wheels, will give me a discount on the centers and dissasemble and reassemble new ones. Y allow ctrs is the way to go.

flat depreciation curve is correct. We are driving these cars for almost free. They aren't going to drop like the 996tt's

well I don't 100% agree with that.

If you don't drive it, sure they are holding and may even appreciate a tiny tiny bit.

But if you drive them, the value plummets. You can take a $65k car to a $45k car in 40k miles.

For instance, my 79k mile car is worth maybe $45k. Thats down almost $10k from where I bought it and I only put 11k miles on it.

You can sell it now and start all over again with a 993tt with more miles. The next one can even be modified W/O regrets.

I enjoy driving and tinkering...thats what I did to mine. Enjoying every mile!

I have a bit of a different take. I have only owned mine for a bit over a year but the garage queen bit has already set in. I decided I didn't want to sell it, but I also didn't want to be driving it in many situations, like driving in traffic or once there is salt on the road, etc. I tried to figure out what car I would really enjoy as a dd which would allow me to drive the tt only when I know I would enjoy it. So far this has worked out well for me. Every time I drive the tt I am amazed ar what a special car it is. My dd is a 991 S cab and I really love it, but compared to the tt....well I'm not sure how I would compare the two, except to say in terms of Porscheness (not really a word, but I think you know what I mean) the tt is the very high water mark. Just a thought.

I know what you mean ..... porscheness I agree, it embodies what the sense of how a 911 is, the rawness the size the intimacy the feel, the "porscheness". My dd is a gl450, comfy lots of torque but not anywhere near mercedesness...... Nothing is like porscheness.........

Keeping it unmolested because you want to enjoy driving it for many years is one thing. But not using it to resell for a little more $$ is nonsense to me.

Life is short and what you collect are souvenirs or regrets. The extra $$ saved will end up in the second category IMHO.

Enjoy the tt while you can.
