Removing clock
Hi guys I was looking for your thoughts on this subject. I want to remove my clock and replace it with a boost gauge. I was reading about the troubles that occur when the clock is removed(ie... air bag light turns on). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to properly replace a clock with a boost gauge. Thanks

Most will keep the clock attached but will relocate it behind the gauge panel. The harness is connected. Wrap the clock in foam and duct tape or electrical tape it in a ball. You can use black zip ties to secure it in it's new home.

I already bought a Defi Gauge that looks exactly like your gauge (except in Black). Thanks Kevin, I'm going to do what you suggested. My car is in the shop getting your modified turbo oil lines installed.

Cool! Who's doing your work? Fischer Motors maintains my Boxster S, 993 Turbo and my wife's Mercedes. They do great work.

One of my good friends owns a shop (profunction) in schaumburg and does all the work on any of my cars. I've been going to him for over a decade now. He specializes in subaru's but can work on anything.

Three Wheelin'
As others have said leave it connected, wrap it up in something to protect it, and leave it behind the gauges. I picked up a boost gauge from automotions thats for a 930 but it works and fits fine. Had the guys from hollywood gauges match the backing to my other gauges (white)
good luck!

The lights on the boost gauge does not reflect the disconnection of the clock. The back of the clock has a circuit board on it that is essential in to preventing the airbag light from coming on. Your boost gauge has its own power source and is not connected to the rest of the gauge cluster. Who knew that the clock was such an important piece to keep attached. Thanks for everyone's input. I will keep the clock connected and relocate it behind the gauge cluster.

I would guess your clock was converted to a boost gauge - there won't be anything tucked away inside the dash.
