Default Body shops in the chicagoland area

Hi All,

I've been reading this forum for 5 years now and have learned so much. This is my first post

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a good body shop in the chicago land area that can install a replica Ruf front bumper (from better bodies), paint match the side rockers and perform a rear bumperette delete. Thanks for any info that you can provide.

I can recomend 2, O'Hare Auto Body & AutoArt.

MidWest EuroSport's Brian recomended O'Hare Autobody, besides the longer than usual wait their work was great. They where kind, corteous, and when I called 2x a day to ask how my car was they didn't get annoyed. Most of them are car guys, so they understood. I had the from Bumper resprayed on my 997.

I have never used AutoArt, but a good friend had his roof painted. The shop was impressive, it was filled with Lamborghini's and Ferrari's. (always a good sign)

Check out Ultimate Paint in Lake Bluff. Joe Young is the owner. They do a bunch of the high-end (Porsche, Audi, Lambo, Ferrari) work on the North Shore. The Porsche Exchange recommends them. 847-295-7404.

A&L in palantine. The others listed here are very over priced for what you get imo

Thanks for all your input. I contacted Val at A&L (its closer to my home). He seems like a nice and knowledgeable fellow. I'm going to bring the bumper to him to get a more detailed quote. I'll post pics of the car when its complete. Thanks again, I love this place.

Really? I've found O'Hare to be very fair, and their work was excellent.

They charged my good friend (black 993tt) a fortune to paint the front of his car (rock chips). A fortune. Great paint work does not cost that much imo

I have no doubt they are a great body shop but why over pay if you don't have too?

Wow! I'm surprised to hear that. They charged me about $2500 for the work on my car when the tire let go at Watkins Glen. For that $2500, they repainted and replaced one bumper cover, repaired and repainted my spare bumper cover, touched up the area above the right rear wheel (not a ton of damage, but it did need some sanding and repainting) and applied a new clear film where the old had been damaged.
