Well hell, 10 days ago I was innocently trolling the forum, having never even heard of a 500E, and tomorrow we're having a PPI done on this one! 55,000 miles, immaculate.

What size are the rims on yours - 20's? I'll need to get a bigger set of donuts - monoblocks, or if you decide to sell yours....

That's the one in Vancouver, right? That is an awesome example. Good luck with the PPI, but I highly doubt you need it. You are going to love the car. The only one who may like it more than me is my wife (not necessarily a bad thing).

You are going to first want to lower it, #1 pads all the way around is what I have. I have 19s on mine, 20s are REALLY big (and some say too big).

Can't wait to welcome you over on the 500espot board!

Yes, it's the Vancouver car listed on 500espot board. PPI tomorrow. Owner has been a fanatatic about maintenance. He told dealership to replace ALL hoses/plastic piping on car due to age, wanting it to be safe for his wife. New motor mounts, new wiring harnesses, new brakes incl rotors.... $15K into it past few years.
What type of rim is that on your car? My wife quite likes them, and they're growing on me...
thanks.

Wheels are Brabus Monoblock IIIs, 19s. I wasn't completely sold on them, but they have really grown on me. They come up for a sale every now and then...

Nothing like picking up a car where the PO has already done a lot of the major maintenance. Mine was similar, 2nd owner maxed out 2 Starmark warranties, and then put a large chunk of money into it. I plan to enjoy mine for a long long long time.

It would be cool to stack a E34 3.8L M5 against the 500E and compare them side by side.

I just bought one too... High miles, but impeccable servicing throughout it's life & the condition belies it's age / miles. Plus it's one of less than 100 040 (Black) e500e's.

Amazing car!

Tanger started a mini epidemic! Great condition. What type and size are those rims?

Looks awesome - can't wait to see what wheels you put on her.

I looked really hard for the 040 - may end up vinyl wrapping mine

Opinions on these rims? Anyone familiar with this manufacturer's quality? 18 or 19"?

IMO, may look too "modern" on the car. Plus, I can't be sure, but the ET30 offset may be at the limits of what will work in the fronts. Just be sure to confirm before you buy.

How many miles Nurburger?

Those wheels are similar to the C63 style, which has been fitted to the W124 500e platform and actually look pretty good as evidenced by:

Yes, I wondered if they might look too modern, but these actually don't look bad. I still prefer the look of Tanger's monoblocks or AMG mono's, but it's a hunt to find them...
Thanks for posting these pics as it really helps.

Well, we finally picked up the beast! A nice 6 hour drive home, through the twisting roads of BC. I was the radar point man in the tt, and Lorraine seemed to have no trouble figuring out what the accelerator pedal does in these cars....
Great car - I hate to admit it, but I wish Porsche seats/leather were this nice... Now that Porsche is putting VW engines in the new Boxsters or whatever they are doing that they said they never would... our turbos just tripled in value! I digress...
18" AMG monoblocks arrive tomorrow

Thanks to all for the input along the way.
Mark
